Degrees & Programs

This guide provides an overview of key concepts to help you navigate our academic offerings, specifically focusing on Degrees and Programs, facilitating structured academic management.

A Degree is an academic qualification awarded by a university or college upon the successful completion of a course of study. A Program refers to a structured sequence of courses and learning experiences designed to fulfill the requirements of a specific degree; Programs detail the curriculum, including mandatory courses, electives, and other academic activities necessary to achieve the learning outcomes for the degree.

Guidelines and steps for capturing details are explained below, with the help of an example: CampX University

Degrees

  • Viewing: Navigate to "Degrees" section under "Academics." You will see a list of available degrees, including details such as the name, short name, display name, duration in years, and the level of study.

  • Adding: To add a new degree, click on Add New Degree button. Fill in the required details, such as the name of the degree, short name, display name, duration, and level of study. Click on Add Degree button.

  • Editing: Click on the Edit icon to make changes if necessary.

Programs

For each degree, detailed information about the associated programs is available. The program includes core and elective courses, practical sessions, and other academic requirements.

  • Viewing: Navigate to "Programs" section under "Academics." Program cards are displayed with degree selection chips for easy navigation. Clicking on a program card reveals regulation-specific courses and semesters. Each program listing has a "View" button that allows the user to access more detailed information about the specific program such as Regulation.

  • Adding: Click on New Program button located at the top right corner of the section, to add a new academic program. Fill in the relevant details, such as the name of the degree, program name & its short name, total no. of seats, display name, and the department. Click on Add Program button.

  • Editing: To edit a program, select View option and click on kebab menu (3 dots).

Courses

Within each program, there are multiple courses that students need to complete. Each course focuses on a particular subject area or skill set required for the program.

  • Adding:
  1. Click Add Course button.

  1. Fill out the course details in the form: Degree, Program, Regulation, Semester, Course Type (e.g., Activity, Audit Course, Drawing, EPIC, Internship, Lab, Project, Theory, Seminar, Workshop, etc.), Course Name & Code, Credits alloted for that course. Tick checkbox as applicable (Elective, Audit, Satisfactory, Grade, Internal, External).

  2. Click "Create Course" to add the course to the system.

Semesters

The Semester feature allows to oversee and manage the details of various semesters for different degree programs. Each semester includes a mix of core courses, electives, and laboratory sessions. The specific courses and their distribution may vary depending on the program and university guidelines.

  • Viewing: Navigate to "Semesters" section under "Academics." All semesters are displayed in grid form. You may choose a Degree; default is all.

Semester_View

  • Adding: Click on Add Semester button. Fill out the required information in the form such as Semester Name, Display Name, Short Name, Year, Sem No., Degree, Annual Exam (check if the semester has an annual exam), Degree Completion (indicate if this semester is for degree completion). Once done, click the Save button to add a semester.

  • Editing: To edit, click on the corresponding Edit icon.

  • Deleting: Click on the corresponding Delete icon to delete the entry.

Regulation Batches

Regulation Batches in CampX are a crucial feature for defining the applicable curriculum for different student cohorts, ensuring accurate academic tracking and scheduling. The purpose of the Regulation Batches feature is to link specific academic regulations to distinct batches of students. This ensures that the curriculum, grading schemes, and academic policies are accurately applied and managed throughout the students' educational journey. The Regulation Batches feature enhances the administrative efficiency in managing academic programs, providing a clear and organized view of which academic regulations apply to different student groups, thus simplifying the process of curriculum management and academic scheduling.

  • Viewing: Navigate to "Regulation Batches" section under "Academics." A list of the existing regulation batches is displayed. Use filters for Degree, Regulation, or Batch to easily sort and view specific records.

  • Adding: Click on Add Semester button. Click New Regulation Batch. In the pop-up, select the appropriate Degree, Batch, and Regulation. Submit to create the batch, linking it to the selected curriculum.

  • Editing: To edit, click on the corresponding Edit icon.
