Initiating Chat Groups
Overview
This guide explains how faculty can initiate chat groups for classroom subjects directly from the CampX Mobile App, ensuring a secure and privacy-first communication channel between students and faculty.
Key Features
→ Faculty can see pending chat groups to be initiated on the Chats screen under the fourth tab in the mobile app.
→ Pending chats are generated based on the classroom subjects assigned to faculty.
→ Initiate Chat – Faculty can initiate the chat by clicking Start Chat in the list and sending the preloaded message.
→ Students will receive a new chat window as soon as the faculty initiates the chat.
→ Students cannot access the chat until it is initiated by faculty.
Initiate Classroom Chat Groups
Follow the Steps below to Initiate a Classroom Group chat
- Navigate to the Chats tab (fourth tab) in the CampX Mobile App.
- An Alert bar at the top will indicate the number of new chats to be initiated. Tap on it to view the list.
- Tap Start Chat for the desired classroom subject.
- A preloaded message will appear in the chat window. Tap Send to initiate the group chat.
- Once initiated, students will have access to the chat and can begin communication.
Common Issues & Solutions

- Chats are integrated into CampX to ensure privacy by preventing the sharing of phone numbers.
- Students and faculty automatically get added to the group based on the course registration and faculty assignments.
